The factory plant and the production lines
FACTORY PLANT
All of the company’s production facilities are located outside the village of Zaros, in the Heraklion region of Crete, at the foothills of the Psiloritis mountain range. The total area of the buildings is 15,850.8 m² and includes production and storage areas, as well as office spaces and quality control laboratories.
The bottling, standardization and packaging facilities are fully automated at every stage of the production process, including bottling, packaging and palletizing. In total, seven production lines operate with high production capacity.
The factory includes a quality control department responsible for carrying out daily physical-chemical and microbiological tests of the water at every stage of production, from the source to the final product, in accordance with current Greek and European legislation.
Additionally, to ensure the quality of the final product, daily inspections are conducted on packaging materials, as well as hygiene checks of personnel and facilities, ensuring full compliance with all ISO and HACCP quality assurance systems.
PRODUCTION LINES
At the ZARO’S Natural Mineral Water production facility, the complete production equipment is installed, with a total bottling capacity of 75,000 liters per hour. Specifically, the facility includes:
Bottling line for PET bottles (0.5 L, 1.5 L and 2 L) with a capacity of 18,000 bottles per hour.
Bottling line for PET bottles (0.5 L, 0.75 L, 1 L, 1.5 L and 2 L) with a capacity of 11,200 bottles per hour.
Bottling line for PET bottles (Sport & Sparkling, glass) with a capacity of 6,000 bottles per hour.
Bottling line for PET bottles (5 L, 10 L) with a capacity of 600 bottles per hour.
Bottling line for returnable PC bottles (18.9 L) and single-use PET bottles (20 L), with a capacity of 800 bottles per hour.
PET bottle manufacturing line (5 L, 10 L, 20 L).
New state-of-the-art bottling line for PET and rPET bottles (0.5 L, 0.75 L, 0.75 L Sport) with a capacity of 22,000 bottles per hour.
New state-of-the-art bottling line for sparkling water in PET and rPET bottles (330 ml, 500 ml, 1 lt, 1,5 lt and 330 ml Lemon Lime) with a capacity of 15,000 bottles per hour.
WAREHOUSES
The ZAROS S.A. warehouses, located at the 11th km Heraklion–Moires Road (4,000 m²) and in Aspropyrgos, Athens (27 Agion Anargyron St., 19300), fully comply with all legislative requirements and ensure the preservation of the excellent quality of ZARO’S Natural Mineral Water.
All our facilities meet the storage requirements of European legislation and provide:
Protection from alterations and contamination
Spacious and adequate areas for the storage of products and packaging materials
Easy movement of transport vehicles with safe loading and unloading of goods
Easy and effective cleaning and disinfection of the facilities
Storage of bottled water in a cool and shaded environment
Implementation of rodent and insect control systems
